Guitar Lesson Programs For Students Of All Ages

Young Beginner

This is for children between the ages of 4-6. We use the structured G4 program which is all set out in our easy to follow booklet. It introduces you to 4 basic skills of the guitar including: Rhythm, Note Reading, Picking and Chords.

We use a simple checklist to keep track of their progress and to keep them motivated.

It even has some great tips for parents to aid in their practice.

All our teachers are fully DBS certified and are experienced with working with very young children.

We quickly get them playing music and make every session fun

Junior

Our Junior program is perfect for children aged 7-12.

The program follows a structured format which makes it easy to follow and fun to learn for both the child and the parent or guardian.

It takes you through the 7 essential skills of the guitar which include: Picking, chords, arpeggios scales, rhythm, note reading, and listening skills. This makes the path really clear and easy to follow.

All teachers are fully DBS checked and experienced with giving children of this age group a great learning experience where their increasing maturity can cope with the next steps in their musical journey.

Following on from the one-to-one lessons, the groups are great places for students to make friends, help build concentration and a host of other skills that help with all types of learning.

Guitar playing is proven to promote wellbeing, increase concentration skills, and best of all its great fun.

Senior

Designed for ages 13 to adult

Regardless of if you have moved from the Junior class, are a complete beginner or are looking to take your skills to the next level we have the skills and tools to take you wherever you want to go.

The program follows a structured format which makes it easy to follow and fun to learn for the student.

The secret is working hard with the method - the rewards are significant (Rich Constable choose the G4 Method to help increase his skills even though he was already a band member and session player).

I’ve really enjoyed learning to play again, the tuition is logical and I’m loving learning to read music.

It’s been easy to learn with this method. Although I’ve just started again the multi facet approach suits me.

So it’s reading watching playing, particularly like the fact Richard will do a video of a piece so you can practice in between lessons.

Definitely value for money and learning with Richard has been a fun journey. He’s patient and encouraging. During lockdown this was a really helpful distraction with lots of laughter mixed in with learning in the zoom lessons.

I’ve really enjoyed both the face-to-face and Zoom sessions. I haven’t had a guitar teacher before, but it was an instrument I’d always wanted to learn.

When a leaflet dropped through the door, promoting Richard’s course, I had initially thought of my children and asked them if they’d be interested in learning.

Both felt they had enough on their plates with piano and drums. Undeterred, I decided I’d get a guitar for myself and see if Richard would take me on — with advancing years I didn’t want to waste time trying to pick it up as I went along.

The course is well structured and carefully paced. It’s challenging in places but never so difficult as to be beyond one’s capabilities at whatever stage you are.

The 30-minute small-group sessions are good value; particularly if you put in the practice between sessions. As with most things, what you get out of it is intimately bound up with the effort you put into it. Richard’s teaching style boosts your confidence and makes you feel you’re making real progress. And you do. .

Both my sons (Bailey and Finley) have very much enjoyed learning with Richard at G4 and continue to enjoy learning with him.

Finley had been attending school lessons for about a year prior to learning with Richard and has advanced more in 3 months with Richard than the whole previous year at school lessons!

Both Finley and Bailey are learning all manner of guitar theory and practical skills. The G4 course enables them to progress across all areas progressively building as they advance.

It’s great the boys can read music now as well. The cost of the lessons is only very slightly more expensive but the quality of teaching so much better.

I’d say value for money is excellent. Richard has a fantastic balance between discipline and making it fun for Finley and Bailey to learn and keeps them very well motivated which is key to maintain interest.

They both enjoy attending Richard’s lessons. .
